Hi, I'm Devesh.
I'm a PhD student at MIT Sloan, where I study labor and public economics, with a focus on the economic impact of AI. I am a research fellow at the Institute for Work and Employment Research.
In addition to my academic work, I am a fellow at the Economic Security Project and help advise elected officials on economic policy through the U.S. Joint Economic Committee. Previously, I was an economist at Goldman Sachs, where I co-authored the 2023 and 2024 global economic outlook and helped spearhead the firm's research on AI.
I completed my undergraduate degree in economics and political science at the University of Chicago. These days, I split my time between Cambridge, MA and Brooklyn, NY. I write occasionally on my blog.
